Well that was a proper arse kicking! It was so windy I was fully wound on a 6.0 and actually could have been on 5.5 at times. The gusts were massive. I put in a weed fin for the first run down the course as it was a bit shallow, and did a sheeted out recon run. Whack! That was the end of that fin. Waited an hour for the tide to come up and went out on the only fin I could find - a really old beat up Type S24. I have to say for sailing in really shitty conditions there is nothing better. Super rough and choppy with small surf rolling through the coursecomplete with inadvertant jumping and the fin handled it all. In the end it was a real struggle for not so impressive speeds. Still the best so far this year. Absolutely shattered!
