A light wind day at Matas, this was exactly what I wanted to get dialed into my gear and get used to the setup/training I have been working on in the north. The whole session went better than I could have hoped for, super smooth and with no incidents what so ever. I gradually gained real confidence with my gear and half way through the session I felt that I could handle more wind and wanted it to pick up a little, hey ho, it didn’t happen, but next time I am ready. It was a really enjoyable sunny afternoon with Paul Lewin and his brother Carl who were also blasting around, we pretty much had the water to ourselves, huge smiles and high fives all-round. Thanks’ to Paul who showed me how to take the readings on my GPS, I was able to improve and almost better my fastest 10sec Avg after that. A big improvement considering previously my fastest 10sec Avg was on a 56.5wide board. Now hunting down the wind for the next PR, bring it on. Look out Juan, here I come!!!
