What an amazing day! My second ever speed session. My first ever ride on water smooth as a disco dance floor. My first ever speed session on my 1985 Cobra 320 GUN.

I've had the board since I was 13 years old and I've always felt I can go fast on it but I could not imagine that it would be possible to go as fast as 35 knots with a big smile on my face.

The Cobra is 30 years old, 3,2 meters long, have six foot straps (>>--) and was shaped by Klaus Simmer.

Also, it was the first time I tested the Blackdiamond Speed Weed 26 that I have modified to fit the Us-box on the Cobra.

I started out with a 4,7 Simmer Icon just to get a feling for the spot. It felt small but I topped over 30 knots, so I decided to go for the 6,2 Simmer SCR. It was a great change and the tuning of the gear was perfect and I could really go for it in a totally relaxed way. I really like the 2013 SCRs - light in the hands, but full power forward. Everything felt super easy and I was just flying! Still I was slightly underpowered. It was just one run that I could push a little harder on a broad reach and wow!!!

My best day ever on the water!
