Event beschrijving en NOR

1. VENUE

  1. 1.1.  The Dutch Open Championships 2015 in the windsurfing disciplines Speed Racing will be held on the following dates at Strand Horst in the Netherlands. An alternative location could be assigned. The championship will be held on maximum three suitable racing days with an average wind speed of 25 knots.

  2. 1.2.  A possible racing day with suitable conditions on a standby date will be announced three days prior to this day on the Event website: www.fruittogofunsporttour.nl

2. RULES

  1. 2.1.  The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) including Appendix B.

  2. 2.2.  The Rules for Championships Sailing, Windsurfing and Kiteboarding”, will apply.

  3. 2.3.  If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.

  4. 2.4.  Every person on board who has his domicile in the Netherlands shall have the appropriate

    license.

3. ADVERTISING

  1. 3.1.  Sailors may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organising authority.

  2. 3.2.  Event branding shall be worn at all times when afloat, and as requested by the organisers

    during media interviews and during the prize giving.

4. CLASSES AND DIVISIONS

  1. 4.1.  The Open Dutch Championship Speed Racing is open for all windsurfing classes in the following divisions:

    1. Speed Men,

    2. Speed Women

    3. Speed Youth (born in 1996 or later)

  2. 4.2.  The men divisions may have a subdivision Master” (born in 1979 or earlier) or “Grandmaster” (born in 1969 or earlier)

  3. 4.3.  The youth divisions may have the subdivisions: Youth U17 (born in 1999 or later) and Junior U15 (born in 20001 or later).

  4. 4.4.  A minimum of 8 competitors are required to constitute a division or subdivision.

5. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

  1. 5.1.  The following shall be presented upon registration:

    1. Evidence of valid third party insurance

    2. Proof of age

    3. Racing licence

  2. 5.2.  Competitors shall register on every location by completing an official registration form.

6. FEES

6.1. The entree fee will be:
Senior and Master member of the NVW
Youth and Junior member of the NVW
Senior and Masters
not a member of the NVW Youth and Junior not a member of the NVW

7. RACE FORMAT

  1. 7.1.  The raceformat will be speed reacing

  2. 7.2.  Men and women will race together.

  3. 7.3.  Racing will be in rounds

  4. 7.4.  The average wind limit shall be 25 knots during at least 5 minutes.

  5. 7.5.  Racing shall take place in suitable conditions,

9. EQUIPMENT & EQUIPMENT INSPECTION

  1. 9.1.  It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that his/her equipment is according to the class rules. The measurers will pay special attention to the sail identification. The sail numbers have to comply with RRS 77. The white background as prescribed in RRS B9-G1.3(a) is not obligatory if the sail numbers are placed at different highs on the two sides of the sail those on the starboard side being uppermost.

  2. 9.2.  Competitors shall use their own approved GPS device.

  3. 9.3.  Only Locosys NAVI GT11 or GT31 devices compliant to ISO 17025 are allowed

  4. 9.4.  Equipment inspections may be made at any time during the event.

  5. 9.5.  Unless otherwise directed by the organising authority, boards and equipment shall be launched

    and retrieved from the designated area at the event site.

10. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

10.1. The sailing instructions will be available at the registration office at time of registration.

11. COURSES

11.1. Courses will be as described in the sailing instructions.

12. SCORING

  1. 12.1.  The scoring system of RRS B8. will be used.

  2. 12.2.  The speeds of a board’s fastest two 500 m runs in a round shall be averaged to determine her

    standing in that round. The board with the highest average wins and others shall be ranked

    accordingly.

  3. 12.3.  All competitors who did not start or finish in a round, but are registered for the race shall score

    DNS. All competitors who are not registered for the race shall score DNC. This modifies RRS

    A11.

  4. 12.4.  To constitute a championship it is required to complete two rounds

13. SAFETY

13.1. Support boat crew member, and, if conditions require it, competitors, shall wear a personal flotation device that shall conform to the minimum standard of ISO 12402-5 (level 50).

14. PRIZES

14.1. Winner of the overall scoring will be awarded “Dutch Champion Speed Racing 2015. They will receive the “Watersportverbond blue pennant” and a medal.

15. OFFICIAL CEREMONIES

15.1. Competitors are requested to attend the event’s social functions; however, the organising authority may refuse entry to those whose standard of attire is not commensurate with the occasion. Prize winners may forfeit prizes for nonattendance at the prize giving ceremony.

16. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

16.1. Competitors participate in the event entirely at their own risk, see RRS 4 - Decision to Race. The organising authority or any of their officials, representatives or the sponsors will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the event.

17. INSURANCE

17.1. Each participating competitor and support boat driver shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of Euro 1,000,000 per event or the equivalent.

18. RIGHTS RO USE NAME AND LIKENESS

18.1. In participating with this championship, a competitor automatically grants the Organising Authority and the sponsor of the Event, the right in perpetuity, to make, use and show, from time to time and at their discretion, any motion pictures, live and still pictures, tapes or films for television and other reproductions of him/her during the period of the competition in which the competitor participates and all material related to the event without compensation
