During day one of the Dunkerbeck GPS speedchallenge the wind took it easy, just like the racers preparing for the challenge ahead of them. A seemingly perfect and enjoyable speedstrip awaits the riders. The forecast is showing building winds for the forthcoming days. Tomorrow morning the Canary Island challenge possibly will be sailed. In the afternoon the European championship takes off. The course is set at 250 metres. Riders can set their speeds within a box of approximately 300 metres. The fastest "over the ground" or so called projected speed will be measured. Within the box riders can anticipate on windchanges and choose a course angle of their liking to ensure a fair race and the highest posible speeds. The formal results per heat will be taken from the average of the fastest two 250 metre runs. After a full day of racing competitor SD cards will be collected to be formally checked. To validate results, riders should also post the session on this site, so viewers get information on the gear being used by a given rider, peak speeds and other relevant info. The gp3s crew will be in the lobby of the R2 hotel each evening from 21.00-22.30 to help out riders not familiar with posting results.
Information of the race will also be shared on our facebook account.
