| Our Speed Quest Series has been a success. Our series will continue through the first week of October. Last weekend we had 10 sailors from 3 states competing. There was a friendly spirit of competition in the air. We have been providing free lunches and refreshments to the sailors. ON several occasions we have had a beachside BBQ. Racers did have the responsibility to turn the roast pork whenever anyone came ashore for a break.
We know sailors have busy personal schedules and some days are windier than others. Therefore, we allow sailors to pick their race day.
Any interested sailor may compete ANYTIME ANYDAY through early October. Email cbergh@iw.net and reserve a GPS unit when you want to race. We will have Foretrex 201 ready for you and a volunteer will be standing by to record your best run.
There is not fees and you can race as often as you like.
Remember First Prize is a check for $500.
We invite sailors of all skill levels to participate. We will record your best speed and the equipment you use.
Our GPS units are calibrated as described on gps-speedsurfing.com. | | | |
| I also wanted to alert interested sailors to the Midwest Speed Quest Site for updates and more information.

| Hello,

www.midwestspeedquest.com
Our current leader has a speed of 33.8 mph.
Our event if FREE. You may race as often as you like.
We have a unique flexible schedule. You watch for a windy day, and let us know when you will arrive. We will have a volunteer standing by with a Foretrex 201 ready to record your best speed. You may keep this GPS unit for as long as you wish. We have 4 units ready to go at all times.
Worthington is located in one of the windiest areas in the USA. We had 25-30 mph yesterday. The lake is small and narrow, so waves are low.
This is a very windsurfer friendly community.
We are proud to be included in the Fall 2005 issue of Windsurfing Magazine (p33 and p44).
We treat visiting windsurfers like royalty.
We also host a Windsurfing Regatta and Music Festival the first week of June. Winds last June were 30 knots.
I have created a DVD highlighting the June 2005 event. This DVD is free to anyone who requests one (I have 35 copies left)
I want to thank gps-speedsurfing hosting for this excellent site
Sincerely,
Craig Bergh Midwest Speed Quest Sailboard Beach 133 Lake Avenue Worthington, Minnesota 56187 USA
