If anyone has ever thought to or has sailed Matas Blancas in Fuerteventura then you need to get there ASAP as some bloody entrepeneur has decided to build a shag off great big windsurf centre right on the beach. This will create a huge hole in the wind right in the area where it is best and you are going for the max speed. The frame work is up and vast and the cladding will be attached very soon. My guess is you have two weeks. Can't see any point in the Dunkerbeck speed Challenge going there again and perhaps this great event is the reason for the new interest in the site.

It used to a great place only locals bothered with as they knew how fantastic it is and on a good day it is world class. There's nowhere else on the island to compare so I'm f**ked and totally pissed off.

Although I wish them well in their venture there's a big part of me that hopes it goes the same way many things do in this little corner of paradise and never gets finished and only the frame work remains to remind us of our follys. If it's anything like the usual build quality here it will fall down within the year and provide me with a life times supply of fire wood.
