Amazing blast on the channel !   Wind was a bit square on for any real fast times & took a chunk out of my drake fin...But hey it was well worth it.   Cracking day with Mark B & Darren M. More of the same for tomorrow.   I cant wait already

My first time out in the channel at Fleetwood. I decided to go out on my Super Sport 116 and change down to something smaller once I'd settled in but the time flew by and I ended up on the 116 for the whole session.

Very flat water by the upwind bank with building chop as you get deeper across the channel.

I got a new PB on my nautical mile, 3.7 knots faster than my previous nautical mile but I reckon that on smaller kit I should easily add a bit more on whilst sailing at this spot.

How could I have gone faster today ? The wind was pretty square on and unless you had the bottle to bear off from the bank into the chop, it kept the speeds down and I think that sailing my smaller board would have resulted in higher numbers. Could also have sailed a bit closer in to the flatter stuff but I'll leave the nomination for 'Balls of Steel' award for another time !!

Chuffed to bits with the session, great company with Darren and Chris and guess where I'm heading next time we get an Easterly ?
