Probably my best days sailing in the last couple of years. But it did not start off that well. The forecast was for plenty of wind today and a WSW swell arriving late. I took my wavegear for some waveriding if the swell came in. On arrival it was beautiful at the Bluff, and I think this certainly is one of the prettiest windsurf spots out there. The wind looked quite strong offshore and there was no swell. I rigged the 5.8 in anticipation of it picking up. On the water I had real cam problems and had to derig on the bank and try again, once this was done I found a problem with my extenstion and it would not attach properly to the pin. Somehow managed to sail back... my problems did not end there, had to drag the sail up the beach in an increasing wind and rerig, I also managed to put the north pin through the sail. Once I'd finally dragged my gear to the water I thought my sailing might not last long, but in the end it worked fine.

Crystal clear water, blazing sunshine, relatively steady wind but a bit patchy at times, a tiny swell and it was possible to sail all the way up to Carbis bay close to the beach, the wind was really square so better speeds were made by bearing off out to sea. The best wind today was in the river but there were lots of standing waves and small breaking swells here which made it really scary at speed. The fin worked really well and no spinout. I might have been a bit better on the 7m today but the 5.8 was so easy to handle. Was hoping for a good Alpha but did not try hard enough!

Really good to get a fun sail in today and had the place to myself, it looked as though there were a few at Gwithers but the swell looked quite small, glad I didn't bother sailing up there on the waveboard
