First time at Daymer for over 3 years.

Was a little worried that we were going to be skunked as the wind was gusting up to 15 max. I had set the windspeed up for stong winds (as forecasted) so was quietly swearing under my breath when going down the course.

The wind picked up but it was holey and squally, but was great fun bearing off into the chop.

Great to sail with Adam and Johnny. Adam was around 20 metres from Johnny when a huge squall made him wiped out rather well. Great minds think alike and Adam wanted a piece of that gust and bore off in it, which looked epic. Jonny now has an egg on his head lol. It will scab over as well we have decided, which makes the injury all the more pleasing :)

I borrowed Adams Techtonics falcon which compared to the Lockwood and the C3 it held up well. Its a lot less powerful than the forementioned. but sticking the track back and lowering the boom helped make up for the less power the fin generated. No spin out in the chop either.

The Windspeed was great as usual. It could have handled lots more wind and there were no issues with control at all. Not bad for a wave sail. Be nice to have a deeper foot. I'm cranking the rig too far back to close the gap and weighting my back foot a little too much, but still it was a good learning experience.

The AB+ eats the chop, it doesn't get unsettled at all, even at full tilt in chop thats plotting to kill you.

Thanks to Adam for the lift. Your'e a diamond for that.

Strange old day - the forecast promised much but delivery is pretty poor (again)

Got there after a mad excited dash from work. Adam was out doing some wobbling onhis 7.0 so my gut instinct was to rig the 7.9 but Simon persuaded me to rig the 7.1.

I watched Simon go out and wobble so I did rig the 7.9. Did about 3 runs and the head cap webbing gave up the ghost.

After a calm trip back to the car, I went out on the 7.1.

Initially the wind was very light and was only just going in the gusts, but then it picked up with some good old gusts coming through. I'd let loads of outhaul off to power up the sail and just as I was bearing away in the biggest gust of the day I had a bit of a moment.

I was taking a long slingshot and the fin was well loaded up and then it was too loaded up. So I sheeted out a bit, next thing I was completly airborne and then got piled drived into the water at 25 knots. Smacked my head on the mast - my wooly hat probably saved me from a serious blooding and now I'm back home I've got a sore hand and neck as well. It felt bad and the boys were suitably impressed.

Good forecast today for daymer today but not much wind came through, as a consequence hard to stay on the plane and lots of stopping to wait for a gust. Lovely day though and 1st time out on a slalom board in months. Rigged the 7m with too much downhaul so will try and remember this for next time. Great fun to sail with both Simon and Jonny, who had the most brutal wipeout... He bore off in a gust and his board took off before nosediving and catapulting him headfirst into the mast... The bump was the size of an egg.

Stayed in for ages and although the wind did not come through enjoyed a nice sunset at the end. Hopefully more wind will come through this holiday as I've been out twice already. Still three weeks of holiday left....
