GPS-Speedsurfing


Who is familiar with the GPSBabel for mac. According to the website you should transfer the GPS-data into GPX etc. But I do not understand how the settings must be for the input. Anyone knows the solution?

hi guys, why do you want to use GPSBabel? i'm on a Mac and i just take the SD card out of the GT-11 or GT-31 and read the data with a card reader. i use GPS Results to analyse the data and automatically upload my sessions to GP3S. setting the GPS unit up with a firmware upgrade is a different story. i haven't been able to get that to work from the Mac side, not even with windowsXP running in a virtual machine. but it works if i boot my Mac via Bootcamp directly into windowsXP or use any other windows machine with the navilink and firmware software installed. and you really only have to do it once to set the unit up. hope this helps Boogie www.C3-fins.com

I have even managed to do the firmware updates using Parallels on a MacBook. You don't need to do these very often, so it's not a major issue even if you can't run Windows on your own computer. I'll second the recommendation of using a card reader to copy the files from the memory card.
