Bit of a pain not having a 7m at the moment (late delivery), hardly use this size but needed it today. Wind direction was around 300 degrees, more north than west, making it very broad. Too broad for fast runs down the wall. As soon as you you boar off, you ran out of power. A 7m might have helped. I guess the very gusty winds were hovering around 25k max, some times dropping to less than 20k I think.

After two or three runs on the W44, opted to just free-sail away from the wall.  I switched to the bigger W58 and did my runs from between the jetties and headed down wind towards the bottom west corner. This course had very mixed up chop, and even did a few small jumps. On the up side, 38 odd knots is a new W58 PB, pleased with that especially as it was not down the wall:) Not the day that we had expected, but was good fun on bumby water.
