Was keen to test out a new fin today so was pleased to see the wind finally picked up a little mid afternoon. Rigged the 6.0 on the iSonic 94 and a new 31cm Techtonics fin. Wind didn't look strong but the sail has plenty of power so zoomed up to speed quickly. New fin felt very slippery through the water and pretty soon was flying along. Able to sit on 45km/h comfortably for long stretches even slightly upwind. Would let go sometimes but otherwise really nice. Was only going to stay out for a little while but it was really nice out there. After about 30min I realised I might be closing in on a speed target Stu and I have been talking about to cover 40km in an hour. So I pushed it harder for the last half hour. But the wind faded in the last 10 minutes and my speed dropped. Still 39.5 wasn't bad and I think cracking the 40km now looks very doable.
