The Good the Bad and the Ugly all in one day. Started the year with an excellent surf with my son at Main Beach the Mount. Offshore and pumping at low Tide. 4 hours surfing from 8am til 12 ish.

No wind in Tauranga and decided the Parents had seen enough of us so came back to Auckland to find some wind and a bonus high tide at 5 pm.

Rigged my newly acquired 6.2 RS MK II. An oldy but a goodie! Also thought i would try new 30 Venom.

In my hurry I had mistaken to connect mast base properly.
(Rope must have been caught under pin area) as I discovered near the end of my first run. Rig and board detached and rider in a screaming heap with lacerated, near broken  forearm between wrist and elbow. Small dent in top of board. Very bad experience ! Hence ugly scar and very swollen arm.

Managed to keep on sailing, but no decent speed as too Southerly meaning runs were very short and patchy.

And to top it all off sail blew against barbeque table resulting in 3 small dents in monofilm.

When can we have some F***** Strong True SW wind in Auckland pleeeease!!!
