Awesome big day, where a few things came together to produce great results. Second time on the KA 2008 5.0 Koncept, so still not broken in and already firing hard, this sail will only get better with further use like the ‘07. I had rode Chris L’s CA50 on Sunday and got aquainted real quick pulling a 38 near the car park in a gusty NW, it cranks in the chop just like my wave board.

Chris offered the CA50 again on Tuesday, a PB shakedown run of 43 could only mean things would get better,…. and they did with a 45.8 peak on this 83ltr board with the 23 KA assy’ fin below. The Koncept kept hauling me thru those bullets of sand and wind with the board flying on the tail at times, this was on the edge a bit but the equipment gave me much confidence to power on. AMAC then lent me his CA44 with the KA20 assy’, this helped too with a 46.2 pk awesome!!! I certainly were not expecting such improvements all in one day. Tide was then coming in and most were done and dusted for the day.

Mal, Chris, Tom and I returned for the late session but the wind had pulled back, we pulled a few runs peaking between 40-45. On my last run on dark I took the KA 08’ 5.3 Koyote for a test run, it did a 41 pk with ease, it felt very stable and shows a lot of potential for a ‘no cam’ slalom freeride sail.

So with the near darkness upon the Pit and the thought of big bitey things below me I pointed upwind to the carpark luckily in one tack, Few!

Contary to the speeds had by all, Chris’s and I exit from Sandy wasn’t untill 1130pm we were buggered and had some trouble with door locks, Dare I say it, ‘Lockwood’ they make locks so I thought Chris would have those things sorted. Then we nearly hit a Wombat leaving Daffys, and another two of them at the end of the SP road, then another in the main st of Meenyan. Got to watch those killer Wombats.

So with many thanks to Chris, AMAC and Mal for producing awesome equipment for all to enjoy it looks like more PBs are sure to follow in the near future.

Thanks guys for your support.
Spotty
