Classic Luderitz. The day started off with a crisp 25 knots at sunrise and kept climbing all day. By the time we were digging the Vito out of the sand at 14h00 it was blowing a full 50 at Diaz point.

I tried a couple of fin options but settled on the 20cm F1. It felt the fastest but was very soft underfoot with no feeling of security at all.

I really got full value for the Luderitz experience. After launching the paunch on the end of my best run and wrapping my ribs around the boom my session ended prematurely. Back at the car while struggling to get out of my broken weight jacket my rig took off from the beach and landed 50 m offshore and started heading out to Nigeria. Getting it back involved a lot of swimming and swearing. After we eventually got the Vito packed I managed to get it stuck in the sand and it took 30 minutes of digging in the now full howling 50knots to get it out.

Cant wait to get back….
