Second sail since recovering for 3 months from an op, and 1st with a functioning GPS!

In between all of the pre-arranged funtions this was the only afternoon I had free and I needed some decent distance to help out my individual ranking.  Carl and Joe sailed yesterday so I was on my own.  I was aiming at around 200 which was easily doable with my current sailing fitness level.

I arrived at 1:30 with about 5 knots on the water so rigged the 9.5 and glugged around for 1-1/2 hours for 10km's , not looking good.  The wind finally arived and I was well powered on the 9.5 but with the 52 fin I was feeling the odd carp tap.  I wouldn't be able to comfortably sail for hours on the big gear and chop so went in and rigged the 7.8. 40mins later after trudging through the mud and over the rocks I was out again and the wind seemed to have eased to 10-15.  I was comfortable but the flukey winds at the ends meant pumping, not good for the forearms when you haven't sailed in months.  The wind gradually dropeed and by the time it was 7 I was glugging around again and I only had 95km's.  Glugged another hour to get to 104 and headed in with fading light.  It wasn't meant to be.  The 3 hours of glugging and rigging would have been very useful if there was wind.

First session on the GT31, I will have to look at helmet mounting in the Gath Jedi and interpreting the speed genie beeps.
