Early morning start. Very grateful that Cam was here, otherwise I probably wouln't have got out of beed this morning and missed a great session.

The conditions were a lot better than yesterday as the wind was about 10 degrees more south, the water was flatter and the wind steadier. It was about 5 knots less on average and without the killer squalls, but the other conditions made up for that.

I rigged the 5.4m as it looked like the wind was a bit less. Tossed up whether to take out the small slaom board but decided on the speed board, and that was definitly the better choice for me.

Jumped on at the lauch and got going easily so thought 'this will be a good run-in for the speed course'. Only tgo to hook in and realise I didn't have my harness on!  Had to walk back from the usual run start point to get it.

First run just touched 40 and was preparing myself for a slower day. Second run was high 41. Whooho! This is looking better. The next few runs were the fastest as the tide went slack and the wind got really steady and the angle at the bottom was perfect with quite flat water. The runs were a lot quicker to do today as we could sail back at least half the run. For a couple I sailed straight back to the start spot, but when you can do this the run is going to be too square so I waited for a subtle shift before launching. The last few of runs had the perfect angle but each was slower as the wind slightly eased. The last one got me to a 41 5 x 10 sec though.

Still only got about 8 runs today but in about half the time it took yesterday!

Cam was looking a lot more comfortable today, but I think he would have been faster on the Speed board rather than the small slalom.

Posted from GW-52. Comments re other gps's same as yesterday, with the addition that I am noticing the peaks speeds shown on the GW-60 are a lot higher than the other two GPS. Today GW60 said 43.717, GW52 said 42.959 and Logit (10Hz) said 42.885. The Ublox, even though it is only a 0.1 sec speed, seems more reslistic. The GW60 peak speeds from the last two days are nuts!

Thankfully, the 2 sec and 10 sec speeds are very close with all of them. But I don't think you can have any confidence in the GW60 peak speeds.
