Started with 5.6 but this was a bit small in the beginning. After 1 hour my harness hook broke spontaneously and I had to sail back without a harness and on my hands....ouch that is heavy man.
Since the wind was at that time not very powerful I decided to rig my 6.4. First time with the 6.4 / RDM and JP 50, so I needed some trim optimizations and unfortunately I had no spacer to get proper mast / cam tension in the sail (todo for next time).
In the beginning it was the perfect choice but around 14:00 it became way to big. I decided to keep on pushing and did not want to change gear again. So go big or go home.
In the end I had a couple of scary moments where my arms where not strong enough to keep the gear steady in 40 knots gusts (knmi) we had around 17:00. So ended in 2 crashes but without damage.
It was a great and long day, but I enjoyed it big time. What a day!!! I call it "perfect".
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO
and very nice to see al the speed mates again after a long time. I hope I can continue with this great sport for many years.
