Today the conditions were almost perfect. In the morning I wnet out with the Freewave 86l and a Volt 4.2, that was a little bit to big, but I could handle it. Than I decided to try to go to devils bay for the first time and I took an isonic withe a Volt 4.0. Dankjewel voor de tips Oane! I tried to go on the speedstrip, but it wasn:t really succesful. The sail was also to small for speed. But never mind, I'll try again...

Day 2 on Karpathos!

Aaaaah it's so good to be back! Sun, wind, warm water temperatures.... I can go on and on!

During breakfast I did not see any waves on the sea so I wasn't sure whether the forecast of 14 knots was right or not. However, after arriving at Schill's, there was definately wind as there were even some white caps showing. So, decided to rig 7.0 and grap the FF89. Quite pleased with that decision, as through out the day, it was the right sail size.

The early morning was un-Karpathos like consistent winds, which were very nice to sail in. Then in the early afternoon the wind dropped a bit and got more gusty. The rest of the afternoon was a bit more consistent again, but with the wind 'dropping' (still 19'ish knots) slowly. By that time I was pretty much spent, so decided to quit before stupidity sets in...

The only other speedie out there today was Nicole, nice to meet a fellow speed fanatic from Germany! =) It was her first time on Paradise bay, but she picked a great day to try it.

All in all: very happy with today, as it was great for getting acquainted with this place again. Forecast for the next few days leans more towards 6.3, so that possibly means taking out the W54 as well. Bring. It. On!

PS: day 1 is missing, since I was so keen on getting on the water after sorting my gear out that I did not bring my GPS. =)
