Always underpowered....still some nasty sandbanks around!

tja.....

1e dagje Franqui is altijd wennen, maar dat de wind zo zou tegen vallen tov de voorspelling in 1e instantie, duwde mij de verkeerde richting in en met mn settings aan het spelen geweest om eerder te kunnen planeren, uiteindelijk nam de wind toe maar kon ik toch niet helemaal de snelheid erin krijgen.

Zoals altijd ben ik voorzichtig op Franqui, toch een beetje de handrem erop...?

Verder gewoon een super dag, mooie omgeving, fijne surfmaatjes en benieuwd wat de wind voor ons in petto heeft morgen en overmorgen.

Edje, ik zie t al vanaf hier... je hebt n porttack vin gevaren, moest natuurlijk starboardtack zijn ;) 

Smallest sail on the water, still a fun session with a lot of friends !

From now on, every session with the 5.0m is a good session ;-) And the Hotrod asy 21, what a pleasure to sail, great fin! 

Hopefully tomorrow some wind in this sail ...

Eerste dag La Franqui, best wel lastig, na meer dan een jaar hier niet gevaren te hebben, was het eerst nog wel even zoeken, zandbanken freestylers, en veel speeders  Het was niet eenvoudig een mooie speedrun te maken.  Veel verkeer op de baan. Ik heb vandaag gekozen voor de 6,2 CHS en de FF 50 de iets grotere speedset, dit was goed te varen. de wind was niet super sterk, en zeker niet genoeg geweest voor de 5,4. Dus mooi eerste dag  met  toch nog wel mooie snelheden.

Beginning off the day the wind didn't come but had some faith in the wind so rigged my 5,2 but wasn't windy enough so after 4 hours waiting decide i'll just give my 7,0 evo8/54 JP speed and Z-fins 29 SLM s- a go to see how fast a slalom fin can be. Have to admit the 29 was a little to big in the strongest gust as was the 7,0 at times but have to give this another go once when the angle is better and not so mich downwind. But it was a nice comfi ride today. Stoked to see the Nautical mile worked out. All happy faces on the water and it was crowded never seen so many freestylers here. Good to see Annie and Andre again who made some nice pictures. Hopefully tomorrow a powerd up session on the 5,2 and drive back home for work on monday :(

De eerste dag niet veel wind , maar was lekker om je set te tunnen voor de 2e dag.

Day 1, LF trip with Regi & Dennis.

To my surprise there was in the morning a lot less wind than predicted, usually it is the other way around.
I took the opportunity to listen to Eric Beale, learning a lot about rigging the Loft Speed Blades. Very interesting!

In the afternoon the wind slowly filled in.
With the very changeable wind (both in strength and direction), I chose a "chicken" set with a fairly large board, so sailing back was never a problem. With the relative large fin I stayed quite far from the beach and the sandbanks.
I sailed with a Select Hotrod 29cm (thanks Dennis) and I liked it very much. This fin gives a lot of confidence and the speeds are (for me) certainly not disappointing.
All in all it was a very nice afternoon with a lot of familiar faces.
