Saturday 18th November – windsurfing *** Levington – sunny

13.99 kt. max, 12.42 kt. ave., 6.82 kt. hr., 8.76 kt mile, 18.20 km., 5.39 kt. alpha.

Today’s forecast was always going to be marginal and cold too. With the wind in the west Levington was the only local option and with the sun out we took lunch and headed to the marina. It was ten degrees when we arrived just past 10 o clock and with the cross on winding gusting to 26 mph I thought the 8.5 I had rigged was going to be too big! Sadly, by the time I was zipped into my winter suit the wind had eased so I decided to beat to Pin Mill on the longboard. It was lovely to be out in the sunshine with loads of winter birds about waiting for the tide to drop so they could feed! The river was high when I set off and continued to come in for an hour giving me plenty of water. I turned in front of the Butt and Oyster Pub to head back. With the wind even lighter it was slow going but still nice to be out. On reaching the marina after nearly two hours out I decided to call it a day and went to join Mag for lunch. The diesel heater soon warmed my feet. Mag had been for a long walk and found some wood for our fire:) We read a few chapters of our books while watching a couple of Little Grebes diving, then I packed up, collected the wood and headed home to watch the rugby.

Next week is looking windy, just hoping it’s not too windy!
