What a day, in the morning the forcast showed a too broad wind angle with 25 gusting 30 but after many checks we decided to give it a go...
Starting on the Falcon speed the speeds where ok but the angle was very broad so we realy needed the 6,2 to get to the end of the run but this was only one run.
The next one had more wind and a 5,5 would have been OK too...
So I decided to use the Falcon Mini speed brought there by Mart who was there to report the day for Soul Magazine (he took some nice picks I think...)
This run was even faster (79 ish) so I made one extra with this setup (82 ish) and after this one (my 9th run on the Falcon mini speed ever....) I tried the old faithfull Caspar speed to get the max out, this resulted in a SUPER nice run of 85
So I was fully set to go for the big numbers but after fighting back upwind in a extra bit of wind what was hauling down the speed course.
The wind got bigger but the angle was turning extra extra broad....
resulting in the wind hauling at 59 knots in an angle of 180 to the course.
This meant the day was done...chop building the wind never swinged back.
I hope next time the wind is OK, I can sail the 5,5 on the Minispeed to get to the real potentcial of the Brace.
Realy happy with the results!!

YES...only 9 runs and I improved my AVG PR and best 10 sec run.
I was one of the first on the water, the course was not perfect but I made already runs of 75 avg. After 30 minutes the course was perfect and I get used to it and every time I went faster. But then the wind shifted to west and increased so much that we could not manage the 6.2. Mart from Motion magazine registerd 57 knots on his windmeter....amazing. But this was it unfortunately over after the wind peek, tide was comming in and wind was still west.
What would have happened when we had more time....
Barry congrats with the amazing speeds!!!

Spectacular day !! First, sailed my AB+ 46 right out of the bag, picked it up yesterday, very nice and balanced board with great control, did a few runs trimming, started with the venom 24 and changed to Strike 20, strike 20 was a bit to small for my 6.2 evo2.
Still busy trimming, suddenly the wind picked up with gusts over 50 knots !! unsailable with 6.2. It started to rain and the wind was turning west, it was very cold in the rain, the tide was coming in so we all decided to quit. Very very faaaast run from Barry max. speed 87 km/u !!! Also Robert and Tjitse over 80 for the first time, congrats to all. I have also a record....shortest session ever....

Great first session with the AB+ 46 which I received yesterday. The wind was supposed to be around 25kts but we mesured peaks of 59 kts...so 6.2 way to big after I had 4 runs in of which the first 2-3 were my first ever on this board and were more for getting a feel of it. After run 3-4 I was getting somewhere and then the wind picked up and after it died down the direction was too westerly and the tide came back in. A pity but the board is great! There is a lot more in it for sure. Better next time.

Black day for sailing in Holland. At strand Horst, my local beach one kiter was killed in a huge windsqual and another guy is fighting for his life. Two sailors are missing and I don't know how many other kiters, windsurfers and sailors have gotten into trouble today. Gusts up till 60 knots were reported all over Holland. The wind wasn't predicted beforehand by most wind sites, so I fear many wouldn't have guessed what was coming at them when the dark clouds were nearing. Best of luck to all who were captured by the storm.
We were sailing at the Brace. I had some bad luck and broke my cross batten when I stuck my sail into the sand walking up to the speed piste. Even with the broken cross batten the sail felt good and balanced. I was building up speed each run but tore up my harness in my fourth run. The wind got better and better and I got crazy watching the conditions get epic and for sure good enough for world record speeds, not knowing what was taking place in other parts of our country. The Brace at least showed it's true potential and we only have to wait for the one magical day before all standing windsurf records will be shattered, but this day shows once again everything is relative. I feel sad.
Respect to Barry, Peter, Dylan, Robert, Tjitse, Willem-Jan, who all broke personal bests during todays short session. It's fair to say Peter and Barry set their topspeed when I was still in the running for topspeeds, so this is not an excuse for my loss. Well done guys!

What a strange day! Congrats to all record breakers at first. I only had 3 runs and then the wind shifted to the west and increased enormously. Immediately it was over with the speed surfing course ….
I had one amazing run which gave me the feeling that on a good day a lot is possible.
Too bad average result due to not enough runs…….
Next time better ;-)

Gefeliciteerd!
