With a WNW breeze forecast for today I decided to head over to the River Orwell at Levington although it was not ideal with high water around 7 this morning meaning the tide would be going out the whole session. Arriving at the marina about 8 I had a chat with foiler Jamie who works there before heading to the launch spot with light rain now falling making it not very inviting but there was plenty of flat water with enough wind to foil. I untied my board and then realised I had left my wetsuit trug at home, not a great start to the session. I returned home to get it before returning to complete setting up my foil and rig 8.5. It was a day for the full wetsuit being more like Autumn than summer I spent a couple of hours searching for a gust. There were a few good gusts and it is easy to get some good speeds as the water is so flat in this direction especially as the tide drops! I had no trouble keeping upwind despite the tide pushing me the wrong way. I gybed on every turn but was rarely flying at the time! Wind the wind still not improving I decided to call it a day sailing up the marina entrance fine. Packing up the best part of the session was the hot shower in the yachtie’s washgroom:)
