fun day at Sandy in pretty ordinary conditions. Wind was changing direction and strength constantly. A lot of effort for the results! still great fun! Very happy with the new 6.4 Koncept in those conditions. Just got home. 12.30 very sleepy. gooodnight!
cheers Tony
Cool, had I not got a PB at Connawarre 2 days ago, todays results would have been a PB for me.
Wind was shifty and gusting,a wait for the rain squall sort of day.
Great scenery with lots of rainbows and at the end the sheet of sand blowing over the bank looked bluey-grey like the sky.

Most of the Pit Crew turned up today to have a go at the team rankings. Unfortunately the wind did not cooperate. It did not come in until quite late in the afternoon (later than forecast) and was up and down and swing around. May have got close to 30 knots in a few gusts but mostly 18-25, sometimes less. Now that it is dark (10pm) I can hear it howling through the trees outside. Undecided

CA 50 and CA40. Koncept 5m. Time Machine Speed26 and KA 20 assy.

Scratch another boom! Sigh......... Frown

An unusual day with wind quite brisk and SW to SSW most of the day. Went for 1 hrs and distance. A bit disappointed with the 1 hr but rapt in the distance.

Wind at start of the first hour attempt was 16-20, increased to 18-24 for the second hour an slightly more for the third hour.

First hour: IS 87 with 34 Select fin, 2010 5.8 KA Koncept. Second and third hour I changed to KA 30 cm fin. Then I got the IS50 with TM48 fin and 5m Koncept for a few speed runs but it was too tight and not really windy enough.

Out of interest (boredom?) I counted up the gybes for the session. = 197

41 in the first 1 hr

51 in the second and best

7 in between trying another fin.

53 in the third only 0.06 knots behind the second

14 on the IS50 speed board,

and another 31 at the end on the IS87 just for fun! Smile

The only one I dropped was the 17th in the last session Embarassedso I made myself do another 14 as penance.Smile

Needless to say, I think the IS87 gybes like a dream!

1hr runs were just on 1/2 a Nautical mile each, or around 1km.

Whoops. Comments above refer to the day after.
