After spending all day yesterday relaxing by the Canal Du Midi at our favourite lock with just a couple of short bike rides and a walk along the tow path and with the trees rustling it was time to head to the coast :)
So after a supermarket stop at Trebes we headed through the Corbieres mountains which where fantastic and all the better with the sun out !!! We stopped at the old town of Lagrasse for a cupper which was lovelly and made it to La Franqui at one :) With several windsurfers and kiters out the gear came off the roof in a hurry. With the freeriders on 5m and the slalom riders on 6.2 I went for 6.4 but to be honest was abit underpowered alot of the time as the wind was very up and down :( I beat up 2/3 miles in search of some flat water away from the swimmers but the wind was never strong enough near the beach for fast runs and the sea farther out was very choppy and it did,nt help my back !!! On returning to the beach Mag was there with the camera so I did a few more short runs and saw a kiter lose all his gear and it was blown far off shore :( A mate rescued his board and took an hour to get back and the kite owner borrowed a canoe from the local shop and disappeared out to sea !!! He returned ages later in a small fishing boat with his kite - he was very lucky.La Franqui is a top spot and I am sitting in the square watching the kiters still out and having manged to find a wireless connection :) and more wind for the weekend lets just hope it's not so,oooooooo bumpy.
