As the forecast looked so good for Dungarven with winds up to 30 knots we decided day 2 of Round 5 of the Irish Speedsailing championships would be held at Dungarven. Myself a few of the other lads decided to drive over and stay in Dungarven on Saturday night but when we woke up it was apparent that the forecast fro here was wrong again with little to no wind while the reat of the coutry had loads of wind.
After a while the wind picked up and we headed out on the water but just as i got out the wind started to drop and i missed the short spell where there was a bit wind and it was hard to get going and i was never really powered up so it wa hard to get any 10 second runs. Finished the weekend 5th overall over the 2 days but it was decided to hold the two days as 2 seperate rounds so that means i got my second podium place of the year from yesterday and will use todays result as a disguard as i think i was 7th or 8th (didn't really look as i knew i didn't get any good speeds compared to everyone else) so cant wait to see my overall ranking when it gets released in a few days.
To be honest i'm getting sick of getting skunked here and for me it was another wasted trip out of many to Dungarven
