Loads of rainbows in the sky today, but did not find any gold. Tight course, gusty winds. First two runs were the fastest, then the wind seemed to get worse with each run. But on a high note, most runs were 40k peaks, so all going in the right direction, I think. Just need to learn how to hold those peaks for 10 seconds and then I might be able to do better. I think Mark B had a few PB's, and Im pretty sure that Chris B has got well over 40k  5 x 10 sec's, well done to both of you, both looked very fast. And I think Peter C got a PB for 2011, nice one Pete, that new boom worked a treat:)

Great day

I'm still on a high from the session on the 6th Oct and then along comes today and I basically claim a complete new set of PB's in max, 2 sec, max 10sec, average,100m, 250m and 500m.

Came pretty close to a 10 second 40 knot run but not quite enough so that one is going to have to wait until another day.

I think I've got a couple of areas I need to work on, 1. sailing closer to the wall, 2. becoming more confident sailing at speed over chop.

Sailed for most of the morning in rain and passing squalls and totally gutted that I had to pack up and leave by lunch just as the sun was coming out to get into work :-(

After going straight to work after this session I've waited all night to find out if I got my 40 knot averages...Was a bloody long 13 hour shift.

OH YEAH I've done ir at last       smileysmileysmiley

What did it for me I think was my new Moo Assy 20cm fin. From ease of getting up on to the plane to blasting down the wall I felt like I could push really hard without the worry of the deadly spinout at 40knots. Not only that it cut through the chop like it was flat water, I was getting all the way the wall no bother.    It felt really comfy & which gave me more confidence to push harder &  get more speed. I could stuff it straight back upwind to inside the first jetty aswell.

Then I took a chunk out of it & had to go back to my Tectonics F1 Falcon.

Twitchy & horrible over the chop, then couldn't get back upwind & lost almost 2 knots in speed.

So it's Moo allthe way for me from now on smiley

Anyway !    Do I wanna go faster ?    YEAH ! ! !

Thanks Daz for the heads up on the track upload utility.

Another tight west flow around WbS again, it should have been slightly broader than west.

In total dissarray today not having my T4 anymore and first trip in the T5, nice ride but not geared up for windsurfing yet, so had no grass and only two sails and forgot my weight jacket but remebered the 8Kgs. Faz sorted me out with his spare tho .. ta mate

Binned my Atan boots, as they were full of sole holes, cut to shreds from the wall refurb... replaced them with a new set of O'Neils, which I have to say were poop. I don't mind having grip on the soles but on the top of the toes ....  whats the thinking? plus they ballooned up with water.

Out of the seven runs today the first three I could barely get my toes in to the straps let alone my feet, Had to loosen the straps too much to get the feet in. for the last four. The wind by then was a few knots down compared to earlier - late morning early arvo..

More lessons to learn, including another new pair of boots, atans or np.

Still a great sesh nonetheless, and congrats to Chris for his first 40avg and Mark for racking up a brace of pbs... well done.
