Not in any hurry to get down today as rain first thing so we went to Lidl for pasties - yum :) and headed to The Dip for breakfast and it was miserable in the rain :( We were entertained for half an hour when a sailor set off from kite beach at the golf club and got into trouble in the choppy water of the River Deben but he managed to get going in the end and get back safely :) The rain then cleared and the sun came out so it was time to go home and get my gear as several sailors had turned up. By the time I got back the wind had really filled in and people were rigging 5/6m sails so I went for 6.4 on the 133, it was a bit lumpy to start with but you could sail broad and flattern it a little. To be honest I was never fully powered with this sail so after a few tries I came in to change up, should I go for 7 or 7.8, in the end I went for the 7 but was still under but the wind was dropping all the time :( I had some nice runs sailing towards the shingle bar and gybing in the really flat water :) also it was great fun sailing through the rough water in the river and heading broad across Bawdsey Bay. As the tide dropped the water came nice and flat but was way under powered - shame really, it would have been a 5 star day if only the wind stayed up - great weather - wall to wall sunshine and I even managed to back up and get home before it started to rain :)

Nice day at Felixtowe in the sunshine - good to see all the lads

Looked windier than it was. OK on 6m/96l as wind gradually dropped and tried 115l but even that was not enough. Should have changed up but hand hurting after cycle accident. Some nice rollers to ride down, got to 3 on one. Nice sea.Would have been 4* but fell in too much as hand hurt grabbing boom :-(. Nice sail.
