Out with Mark and Big John, Rigged, wind died, very gusty and even when it blew the 7.0 was never enough, 8.3 would have been a better compromise. What's happened the the good old West Kirby with solid steady winds?

Nice little evening sail with Mark and John. West kirby seems to turning into a port tack venue, with all these SW'lys Wasted an hour rigging and trying to get going on the 6.3m, eventually gave up and rigged a 7.8m. Winds were very gusty again, ranging between 10k to 30k making kit choice difficult (again). The 7.8m seems to be be best all rounder in these conditions, but difficult to close the sail in big gusts. Bottom batten snapped whilst rigging, ended up with zero tension on the bottom cam and no belly in the bottom of sail. Could really feel the reduced drive and lack of stability. Ended up being a decent session, was fun.

Evening sail with Mark H and Mark B, cant get anywhere close to them yet, spent quite a bit of time in the water at the bottom end waiting for a gust to get going, but always good fun, not so many runs in, and still the "what seems at present" 30knt barrier to break :-)
