I'm after either an F-hot (later versions) Sonntag, Hurricane, or Vector carbon fin. 32 or 34 would be great. Many thanks simonhnkly (at) gmail.com

Hi Simon, I well done on your session in Plymouth.  I was just reading your comment  on your crash...Yes your footstraps do sound a long distance apart.  Also the thing that sounded wierd to me was the fin is very big for these speeds.  Maybe a blade fin at 28cm but delta maybe 21-23cm?  Do you think this could be an issue?  Because the lift from a wide base fin is close to the board it can feel ok till something like that happens. Just an idea!

Also I just measured my straps (I don't know the official way of measuring this  but from front screw of back foot-back screw of front foot) is around 39cm...this seems to be about normal I think for production board plug positions.

Hi Jim, thx mate. Was good fun. Not quite wk but dam close to it mid course. I was speaking with a friend today about it. He said it was obvious (!) I was going faster than the apparent wind. I might have hit a lull as well, but I was sling shotting into the channel on the head of a big gust. I had a 42 peak, so when I started falling towards the tail, it felt like an oh chit moment. Luckily I didn't catch a rail. I measured my straps centre to centre and they are 61cm apart. I always liked wide straps as they give a good foundation and create confidence when a gust hits. I thought it would make sailing upwind and on the beam less efficient. But going upwind is very fast. I had 31 knots going beating up the course. I don't know how this compares to other sailors. But for me it was pretty quick. The 32 or 34 requested is for my magnum. I used a 27 on the escape yesterday. It's 55 wideand is 270 long so needs something a little bigger. I tried a 24 falcon and it felt like v under finned.
