THIS WEEKS CHART-BUSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!
FAT IS FAST, and the Aero117 is one PHATT board, but it took Ka Koncept 5.0 to take it over 40 Knots.
The session started with only one run on the Missile and a maiden voyage for one of Mal Wrights new fins and '07 Ka Koncept 5.0, 40.3 GPS max awesome! Problem being the high tide and bumpy conditions and not wanting to try again due to being out of control at the end of run.
So pulled the Aero out for its second time on the water to see what it could do, I thought a 35 would be ok as the Acid94 had done a touch over 40.
I was wrong, Gps max went increMENTAL run after run~37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42.5 and finally 42.8 just before the hail/squall hit.
Its like riding a couch, comfy and very stable, though Starboard state....
"More dynamic and maneuverable than any other wide-style board, the Aero excels at light-wind wave riding and begs you to carve hard, loop, and jump."
....and NOW thanks to the Ka Koncept....GO OVER 40 knots!!!
The 5.0 Koncept worked a treat, I just rigged it up, Tony and I went 'yeah that looks right' no fine tuning, "she'l be right mate" and didnt touch it all day pure and simple! Though sure some fine tuning will not go astray.
This set up I can say felt incredibly stable, just a few small spinouts and a couple big ones, but I did not feel out of control at speed.
Anyway thats the way it went I'm still choking on the amount of sand I inhaled, so grab a door!, grab anything! GO FAST and have heaps of SERIOUS FUN!
Cheers
Spotty
