We had a great forecast for Southend but come the time it didn't materialize. We ended up with a southwest wind in the mid 20's. Steve Thorpe joined me while the rest split them selves between West Kirby and Weymouth, looking at the wind map in the morning it looked like we didn't choose our options well.

I took a 6.0 Vapor, needed bigger but knowing I probably wouldn't beaten my best GPS time on a bigger sail I just hoped for the wind to fill in. Strangely this was probably the choppiest I've ever seen Southend, that said it was still better than most places and as the water dropped it just kept getting better and better.

Spend a good bit of time on the beach getting a few snaps, unfortunately a little too long as I caught Steve Thorps best run on camera as the wind gusted up. You can see my full report with pix and trax on my website www.k-63.com
