I had a pleasure to sail with Mal Wright and Andrew Daff. For the duration of the low tide there were only three of us aiming for speed.

Speed sailing with easterly wind at Sandy Point is very tricky. When I compared my tracks with Andrew Daff in the evening - I discovered that I was missing the speed course in all my attempts.

My biggest challenge was to handle a 30-60cm 3m spacing chop on the way to the course. As a result I had difficulty finding and entering the very short speed track with sufficient speed and a good angle. This became really obvious when I had an opportunity to sail in the company of two excellent sailors and then compare gps tracks.

Mal: congratulations for your PB. Your 44.06 knots average has improved your world rankings ! Just 0.03 knot faster and you would be in the top 5 !!!
