Managed to sneak out for an hour on the water in the late afternoon. Wind was pretty decent, not gusty but would kind of ebb and flow in strength. Had a few runs nicely powered up but was unable to convert to a real speed run. Tide was higher than expected and there were a lot of small waves with multiple peaks and everything was close together. For some reason I just could not get a clean line. I tried all the normal variations but nothing was working - just too many disorganised waves. Acidentally jumped one that leapt up in front of me and had a very sketchy landing. Made me think of Ian Fox (and his recent vertabrae shattering experience) and I decided to back it off and wait for a better day.
