Today I had the idea to test my slalomsails on the speedstrip, and also my first speedsession since a long time.
I still had in mind my injury of last Januari, and not had the idea to go really fast today. Just testing.
While rigging the VMG07 6.0 I saw I had to add 3 spacers on the lowest 3 cambers. The cambers are very loose, but not really had the time for doing that so went on the water with a sail with not much of power in the lowest area.
First run: 64 km/hr ... second: 66 km/hr The sail felt good, only need extra downhaul next time. It;s brand new so the material must settle.
After a few runs a got my trust back in my body. I found the "speed button"in my head and went for it: 70.2 km/hr! Wow over the 70 on my first day with the new gear! Later a saw a 71.8 km/hr. And then you start thinking: what was my PB on the 2 seconds? And then when I was on the water together with Reginald we got a big gust: 72.7 km/hr! Wow, the 2 seconds is 73.81 km/hr. That is 1 km above my old PR.
Not have the condition to get good 10 second runs, but I have a good feeling about it this coming year!
