First sail in 5 months and it was a pretty fun day although the conditions weren't ideal. The course was really square and I was only a few knots slower coming back up as going down. To get any half decent speeds you had to bear off into the chop. I didn't have the balls to go too deep for too long as it was getting pretty knarly, esp for a 31cm fin.
First ride on the CA50, and that board rules. Such a smooth ride, there is definitely alot more to get out of that board once the right size fin goes in. Kept accelerating until I chickened out. Also gybes really well so I no longer have to do my usual kook trick of jumping off to 'tune' something before sailing back upwind.
