Nice afternoon session at Roa island. It was good to finally sail here and cruise around and look out for sandbanks. There are some shallow spots around but nothing to worry about. The Wind was pretty square SSW - SW and around 20-25kn winds, JP 45 & 5.4. Roa island needs a good 35kn + WSW really for speed. It's a great spot as you can get really close to the bank in the flat, fin deep water and shelves off pretty quickly like at Southend. It's best to sail mid to low tide and sailable at 6m, but beware of the tides as they are pretty strong. I think on a good forecast Roa could be one of the fastest spots in the uk.
