Southend can be butter flat, not so this weekend, which makes Martin’s time even more impressive, real big congratulation to Martin, and what a great way to get some attention for our event at Southend, drivenbywind. Also congratulations to everyone for so many new pb's.
We started out on the top course, many were seeing 44 on the gps screen, we move to the lower course when the wind moved round to the west. Normally this bank is so flat its hard to belive, but this time it had a small amount of chop, that said, its still flat compared to any other course.
I used a 6.0 all day, little under a bit but then got blitz when the squall came through. Great day but got some chasing to do.
Took out my camera for the first time, bit big for sailing with, and can’t say I felt comfortable leaving six grand laying on the beach, but then it didn’t matter anyway, rushed around to much any once in the housing I couldn’t re-open it to change some of the setting so had to do with a slow shutter speed, if nothing, a lesson learned
