Nice, the season 2018 has begun.

Really happy I gave it a go. Nice session, super relaxed with the other guys! Wind, sun, and....cold. For me it was on the edge. I had a shorty underneath my Drysuit and this was perfect, the body was warm all day; but feet and fingers are my problem.

At the beginning everything felt good and I had no problems with my hands and feet. Did the first runs and all went smooth but not superfast. Then I did a first slingshot in a proper gust and managed - as I know now - my fastest run of the day. Also smooth.

Well after that I got problems with the cold on my hands. Hadn't the power I normally have. Down the wall everything nice and easy, there more wind would have been also nice. But the tiniest slingshot results in truble. Everytime it was on the edge to hold it together.

In sum I have a bit mixed feelings about the results. I don't get high speeds down the wall with 110° or 115°. Okay, maybe this is a bit better with lead, but I didn't use it today. Bearing off is normally fine and I felt I could do a 72+ average, but just not with these temps.

Big heads off for everyone going out today. And congrats to Vince and Dennis for their superb speeds in these conditions!
