Normally I don't post windspeeds as little gusts are always there. Not today. Jan Willem Heutink told he he didn't feel a single gust in which his 8.4 was fully powered.

I was on 6.3, speedsetting. This means, lower downhaul compared to specs and plus four on outhaul. In this trim the sail slices the wind and the whole loadcell which is created functions as a whole. Those who have been at Horst today will confirm it was by far NO 6.3 weather. Still I could plane when others on 7.7 and 70 wide boards had a hard time starting up and mostly could nearly keep up with the slalomstyle type of boards. In the lulls, which we there whole afternoon at three quarter of the bay, I could still plane and accellerate once I had the first gust in. By jumping from gust to gust and by being very gentle on the fingers the endresult was veeeery close to the guys in full on racing mode for the day.

Training and tuning continues. Goal for next year: a super fast 6.3 with the power of a 7-7.7.

We, at S2 see two setting modes. One for widestyle, big fin, big board type of racing. One for smaller boards, fins and sails. Both options are equally good and soft on the hands. Backhand is virtually non excistent. forward pull is simply massive. Ease of use on the hands is incomparable to any other sail. The end effect....warrior mode on and race your socks off until fear hits at days where you are challenged to the max.

For anyone not weighing close to or over 100 kilo and not being over 6 foot long, S2 is THE alternative. If this statement is marketing bullshit out of personal interest (which is there) or true can be felt if you ask for a test on the sails which I will respresent Internationally from coming year onward.

Anyone racing S2, feel free to contact me for personal advice.
