Mid winter feeling like springtime. We had a super nice day with good but short gusts for the 7.0. Peter asked me to test and older Chris Lockwood design: the Mistral speed 55. I truly hope Chris will come up with new boards as I totally understand where he was coming from with this design. This shape is pretty long as many Dutch riders will remember. When I got to the beach the general comment was...way too long...but what people tend to forget is the fact that the ride itself is the smoothest of nearly all boards available. It's so easy to ride. When combined with some accepted and well recieved solutions now found in many modern boards something very suprising could happen. To me it's clear Peter and Chris should expand to Tribal boards as well as Chris is clearly one the word world's best designers and it's a shame no current Lockwood shapes are on the water. Time to send an e-mail to Chris I guess :-).
