Saturday 27th June – windsurf ** - The Dip, Felixstowe – Mainly cloudy.

F2 Ride 282 with 38 cm fin and 5.2 and 6m Tushingham sails

Fin – 25.50 knot max, 23.37 knot ave ., 9.40 knot hour, 17.34 knot mile, 33.40 km., 13.43 knot alpha

With three days of strong wind forecast but tides not great for several venues I didn’t have much choice of venue, I could have gone to Point Clear but am trying to avoid it especially at weekends as it has become very busy! So, I headed down to The Dip where several kiters were already out making the most of low water! I rigged 6m and went out on my 115 to check the conditions and came in after one run and changed down to 5.2 which was OK. Sadly, the sea was horrendously choppy conditions I just don’t like, just looking for a wave to gybe on was a challenge enough! In the end I covered 20 miles had a few alright runs and even managed a few gybes. Then with the sea becoming even more messy and the wind 30 knots it was time to call it a day.
