Tuesday 28th September - Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny periods and showers.

Fin – 24.16 knot max, 22.95 knot ave ., 16.57 knot hour, 21.85 knot mile, 48.57 km., 14.51 knot alpha.

F2 282 Ride with Tushingham Lightning 7m and 36 fin.

The wind just keeps blowing with days and days more to come, the only shame being the tides are limiting our venue choice a little. Not keen to travel too far with all the trouble getting fuel! The direction today was SW and low water just past 10 the same sailors from yesterday were heading to The Manor at Felixstowe so after doing my exercises I headed down taking Mag with me so she could walk home, managing to park in Squiz Lane:) The clouds were clearing now with the sun making an appearance, there was over 20 knots of wind on the guage and the sea looking lumpy I decided to fin again for the second day running. Of the other three sailors a few groynes up, one was on the fin while two were foiling although I think everyone ended on the fin in the end. I was hoping to visit an old friend this afternoon so it was quicker to set up my fin, using my favourite F2 Ride 282 today and took a chance with my Lightning 7m but to be far my 6.5 would have been a better choice especially with the sea for the best part being a lumpy mess! As usual when I sail here, I set off to sail the mile and a half out to Wadgate post where the sea was really big so going fast was out of the question today but still managed an OK hour. The Manor break started to work, a really nice area of shallow water out by Wadgate with waves and a large section of smooth water, always nice to sail in:) I sailed out to say hello to the only yacht I saw out sailing in the challenging conditions and on my 8th run out I went for a fast mile but it was knackering on the back leg not helped by the messy sea. I headed back for a snack, took some pics and had one last run out to make 30 miles for the session before heading home with plenty of time to shower and get ready for an afternoon out.

Tomorrow there is a fresh breeze forecast but maybe too much North in it, our go to venue for this direction high water is probably too late so might take a chance with Levington again, at least I can get a hot shower after:)

I was wondering if you would like to take a minute to vote for my pic in this year’s Felixstowe Photo Competition. My picture is FFF in the seashore section – all votes are greatly appreciated:)
