Friday 31st December - Windsurf ** River Orwell at Levington – mainly cloudy and mild.

With the mild breezy weather continuing I again headed over to Levington again for a sunrise windsurf with more wind forecast today, sadly it did not live up to expectations:( I was joined on the water today by Robert who went to Alton yesterday and like me is not keen on that venue! Cloudy with no sun and the wind was light as we set up our foil boards, the breeze had filled in a little so I rigged 6.5 with Robert going for 6m. We then spent a couple of hours waiting for a gust, lighter Robert got flying much more as I was under powered for much of the session:( I still had a few nice runs down towards Pin Mill with the wind turning WSW which is a particularly gusty, also did not feel quite as mild today and I put my gloves on. The highlight of the session was spotting a pair of Kingfishers whizz past and a seal popped up in front of me:) With the wind going light it was time to flounder back against the tide and was still home at midday for a walk down the seafront with the Grandson Arlo as it was now a lovely sunny mild day with loads of people on the beach, we had to get a local paper as we have a couple of pics in including one of me windsurfing on Christmas day:) Hope to have a sunrise session tomorrow to start the new year:)
