It was another early start at Weymouth. We were briefed at 8am and on the water at about 9am. It was a southerly wind which meant that the water was unprotected and the chop built up (unlike in a SW or SSW when the course is virtually flat). I had rigged up at the club end which meant a downwind trip from hell to get to where the organisers were running the amended course. It took me 5 broad reaches in the strong winds and hellish chop to get to the downwind destination! Come the actual speed runs, it was pretty much survival conditions for most of the fleet. The speed course was being held offshore and the chop that we had to deal with was challenging to say the least. All things considered, I feel that I coped quite well and it was certainly good practice for full on slalom (i.e. >30 knot winds). In Brogborough money, I hit a peak of 31.5 mph and did a 500m run at 30mph. My official result for the 524m course was 25.04 knots. Phill Luckhurst will confirm how difficult it was to sail during this session!

Oddly, I get higher speeds (time based and distance based) in GPSResults for this session. However, I've submitted with GPSAR Pro as usual.
