Winter has made us all look for new spots. I've always looked at the sand bank at Barwon Heads on a northwesterly with some anticipation. Today I tried it and although the tide was way too high, It has pretty good potential. There is a nice grassy block of land to rig up on and is only 20 metres from the water. Curiously, this block is on the corner of BEAVER  st.......... This spot has to be called "beavers" from now on!!!
Beavers (sorry, can't help myself :) is good fun and with the incoming tide is pretty chopppppy through the channel then still about 8-10 " chop down the bearaway. This would get a lot better on a lower outgoing tide. Rattles the teeth but fun. It looks like it will be a great urchin free alternative to pt henry on northwesterlies.....
The sx small ate the chop and the KA symmetrical 23 is always awesome ( could have used the assy and will next time)
Speeds all dopper on the navi gt11 (left the 31's at home :( )
cheers tony
