Quick hour when I arrived at Hayling with Jon White. Both of us were on our new 8.8 Hot Sails GPS for the first time. Interesting using such a big sail, didnt feel any heavier than the 8m which I was glad about. Very marginal winds, probably around 10knots with the odd gust above.

I was an idiot, first time I have sailed from a big long beach where I dont know landmarks. After my first run out I thought I had lost loads of ground downwind and spent most of my time worrying about getting back to the launching spot.....a Big white building on the beach. Spent about 45 mins with long runs out to sea when I could get planing and cruised back to shore, then I realised I was about 1mile upwind of where my van was next to the xlightly smaller white building on the beach!!! Next time I will put my contacts in. Nothing else to report from the weekend as no wind
