Saturday 24th January – Windsurf ** River Orwell at Levinngton – sunny.
Foil – 18.19 knot max, 16.34 knot ave., 5.32 knot hour, 12.39 knot mile, 16.75 km., 13.57 knot alpha.
Starboard Freeride 150 (LW) and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt 6.5m.
After a spell of wet weather I was keen to get out on the water again today as a nice SE breeze and sunshine was forecast! The wind light to start with but picked up enough to tept me to hitch the trailer and drive over to Levington Marina, I was surprised to see several people already there, in fact there were three windsurf foilors and at least half a dozen wingers out in the lovely sunshine! The two windsurf foilers had rigged 6m and 4.3 which seemed too small for me so I went with 6.5 again! Once again the wind let me down again although being on the water over two hours it was hard going at times with a lot of floundering about! I actually went in quite early today while tacking as I slowly made my way to the corner before the wind dropped light so I called it a day to warm up in the nice yachty showers before taking some sunset pics on the way home!
