Tried a different Pakawau spot. This spot is actually off Pakawau.

Windfinder had it at 16/17 to 29, WNW. It was probably closer to 20. Wind was a lot more consistent than the spot further south.

Started at high tide, and sailed to the low tide. The tide goes out just over a km, it was about 1.5-2 hours before low tide before the water started to flatten, but it wasn't until low tide where the shoreline got reasonably consistent. Could sail 15-20metres off with no worries. But needed to bear right off to get the highest speed possible. There is no sand bar, so its never going to be crazy flat

WNW is too square here. The first part of the slingshot was good, but the last number of seconds the board was slapping around too much, and speeds really dropped off.

W could be decent, WSW even better. There is a little gap between a group of hills where the wind funneled through, which was up the Pakawau end, not far from the launch, which seemed to consistently have a couple more knots.

The  low tide was at 18:30, and at that point in the day the wind was dropping off.

Looking forward to another day to improve my speeds
